About Me
I am a UKCP-registered and accredited Psychotherapist, and I offer therapy sessions for adults 18 years+, especially for anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and neurodivergence, as well as supporting clients through personal and relationship issues. I am based in the South Side of Edinburgh for in-person work and offer therapy online from anywhere in the world. The cost of a session starts at £70 per session, £60 with concessions, and I am available for short-term, more focused work and long-term, ongoing work.
My Clinical Training
I am an accredited Psychotherapist with the UKCP and have an Advanced Clinical Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy. I am registered with the Gestalt Practitioners Training Institute and abide by their code of ethics. I completed my Diploma training in Gestalt Therapy at Edinburgh Gestalt Institute. I started my counselling training at Iron Mill Institute, Poole, in 2013 and my Gestalt Psychotherapy training at Metanoia Training Institute, London, in 2014. Since then, I have supported clients privately, through employee-assisted programmes, in several national charitable agencies, and in educational institutes.
My Educational Background
I have a B.A. Hons in Religious Studies, an M.Litt in Cultural Studies and a P.G.D.E. in Secondary Education. I have researched, studied and practised philosophical and experiential psychological systems for decades. I have a Coaching Diploma and professional recognition in coaching from the General Teaching Council of Scotland.
My Work
As well as counselling, I have decades of professional experience in a variety of educational contexts throughout the UK and Europe. I have travelled extensively for work, study and personal growth. I am keenly interested in holistic approaches to self-development and educational models such as Waldorf, Montessori, and Consciousness-based education. I have been consulting and advising on personal/professional development for individuals and groups from all walks of life since 2010. I develop educational packages focused on professional and personal growth for schools, cultural awareness training for international organisations, and therapeutic coaching and mentoring for adolescents.
I have taught effective, effortless meditation to individuals and groups across the UK since 2009. I managed a meditation centre for a national charity on the south coast of England. I have worked with at-risk groups, teaching regular courses in research-based meditation, and facilitating meditation retreats in the UK, Europe and India.
I also facilitate workshops on brain-body integration and well-being, the neuroscience of meditation and its impact on learning difficulties, and effective tools to support emotion regulation. Additionally, I present public talks on Emotional Health, Vedic psychology and Yoga philosophy.
